2025 Summer Arts Camp

July 7th – 11th
Monday – Friday • 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

5 mornings of age grouped art classes, ages 5-7, 8-10, 11-14
Three classes each day for each camper, with breaks and snacks.
Friday afternoon performance and art exhibit.

Five Days $45, including supplies and snack.
There will be scholarships available. Please contact us for more information.

Classes will be held at the Valley View Church, on Hwy 344 & Dinkle Rd, Edgewood.

Paid Student Interns, ages 15-18, will assist in the classes. If you are interested, please contact us ASAP.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The one time discount for the cancelled day of Saturday Arts Camp is applicable to this program. To receive your discount, please check the box on the Mail-In Registration form or select the “YES” option near the bottom of the Online Registration form.

for our 2025 Saturday Arts Camp

Saturday, March 29, 12:30-3:30pm:

  • African Drumming – Blake Himm
    West African traditions, group hand drumming and technique
  • Animals of the Earth – Hands in Clay with Jodi Miller
    Learn all the skills you need to sculpt an animal friend from clay!
  • Collage Creatures / Playful Puppets – Shelly Korte
    Using a variety of colorful patterned paper, fabric and mixed-media materials children will create creatures that have layered and moving parts.
    These creatures will interact to tell theatrical stories through the children’s voices.

Saturday, April 5, 12:30-3:30pm:

  • Brazilian Samba Drumming – Blake Himm
    Traditional Brazilian multi-instrumental ensemble drumming.
  • Animals of the Earth- Hands in Clay with Jodi Miller
    Learn all the skills you need to sculpt an animal friend from clay!
  • Painting Portraits & Plants – Shelly Korte
    We will look at artists who have painted themselves in natural settings and make inspired self-portraits.
    A combination of drawing and watercolor will be explored to make large-scale bright works of art that are based on observation and fantasy.

Each Camper will participate in 3 classes each afternoon.
Classes will be organized by age, ages 5-14

Both days $25 includes supplies and snack.

2024 Summer Arts Camp

Edgewood’s Got Talent!
Get your hands on guitars, drums, keyboards, ukuleles and more! Learn basic skills, form a band and compose an original song in this weeklong program that ends with a

Ceramic Sculpting
The Way from Foil & Clay to Art! We will do armature sculptures this year using clay with foil, masking tape and flexible wire. These will be painted with acrylics. The last day of the camp would be for building a playful world. • Jodi Miller

Visual Stories – Journals and Murals
Over the course of the week each class will collectively develop ideas and imagery for a
collaborative mural that will be painted on canvas. Children will collect their drawing and painting sketches and design ideas for the mural in a handmade journal – a visual storytelling memory of the class! The final canvas murals will be displayed publicly in a local venue. • Shelly Korte
